La Rue was born in Sweetwater, Texas into a vibrant family led by a father who had been an actual clown, briefly after high school. He became an actor and swept us to the western shore.  I found my place in the Pacific Ocean, for which I am forever grateful. I have lived all over the southern and northern western states. I returned to Texas in 1989.  I recieved an MS in Art in 1994 and have been a painter for 42 years.
